The Wisconsin Society for Ornithology seeks an organized administrator to assist with membership, development, and communications. WSO is a nonprofit organization whose mission is promoting the enjoyment, study, and conservation of Wisconsin’s birds.
This is a part-time position for 10 to 20 hours a week. The salary for this position is $25 an hour. This is a remote position with work from home, but residence in the greater Milwaukee area is preferred due to financial duties.
The responsibilities for this position include:
- Process membership dues and donations
- Database management
- Participate in fundraising campaign development and strategy
- Assist in developing revised newsletter format and content
- Coordinate and contribute stories to the newsletter
The position may include additional responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and distribute a broad range of membership and communications materials
- Coordinate journal schedule and articles
- Manage publication printing and distribution
- Coordinate volunteers assisting with publications and other activities
- Review and revise website content in Joomla
- Manage and create digital content on the WSO website and social media
Skills and experience needed:
- Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and attention to detail
- Detail-oriented entry skills for membership and financial tasks
- Professional writing style with good writing skills
- Strong professional communication skills
Preferred additional skills and experience:
- Experience in Microsoft Office or Google documents, including spreadsheet analysis
- Ability to manage volunteers and schedules
- Social media and website content and management experience
