Habitat: Open Water, Mixed hardwood Forest, Prairie, Marsh.
Best Birds: Trempealeau Bay, the boat landing, and the observation deck should be checked for waterfowl. Trumpeter Swan can be found in winter, and Tundra Swan during migration. The Bayview Trail may produce songbirds. The Black Walnut trail is great for woodpeckers including Pileated. Brady’s Bluff and Perrot ridge may have views of soaring birds such as vultures, eagles, and pelicans. The small prairie near the nature center is home to bluebirds. Check the Prairie trail, which has varied habitat, for warblers, sparrows, and Scarlet Tanager.
Directions: 25 miles NW of La Croose/One mile northwest of Trempealeau on S Park Road.
