Rush River Delta SNA, Pierce County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot
Habitat: Bottomland Hardwoods, Open Water.
Best Birds: This floodplain forest harbors breeding birds like Red-shouldered Hawk, Acadian Flycatcher, Yellow-throated VIreo and Cerulean and Prothonotary Warbler. There is a Great Blue Heron rookery in the delta. A sand spit projecting into Lake Pepin attracts Forster’s and Common Tern.
Directions: 53 miles SW of Eau Claire. From Maiden Rock on Hwy 35 travel northwest 1.3 miles to a parking area north of the junction with County Hwy A. The SNA lies to the south of Hwy 35. The area can be viewed on the north border on foot or ventured in rubber boots. A boat is required to explore deeper into the delta.

County Hwy A from Hwy 35 north 8 miles to Hwy 10 follows the Rush River valley. This route provides many excellent roadside birding opportunities especially in spring and summer.
