Habitats: Open Water, Marsh, Northern Hardwood Forest, Restored Grassland, Urban/Residential Parkland.
Best Birds: The lake is a popular destination for a wide variety of waterfowl year-round, including Trumpeter Swan, Snow Geese, ducks, American White Pelican, terns and gulls. Wakanda Park can hold Common Gallinule, and warblers including Pine Warbler.
Directions: 22 miles west of Eau Claire. Lake Menomin Park is on the northeast corner of the lake and provides the most extensive natural habitat. South access is from a parking area off of Red Cedar Street (44.89562, -91.89045). There is a bicycle trail off of Stokke Parkway that follows the north border of the park, along the Interstate, (44.90378, -91.88016). On the west side of Lake Menomin is Wakanda Park which provides broad views of the lake, (44.89910, -91.91811).
