Habitat: Open water, Marsh, Mud Flats, and Oak-Hickory Forest.
Best Birds: The diverse wetlands provide habitat for geese, swans, Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Scaup, Hooded Merganser, American White Pelican, shorebirds, and swallows including Northern Rough-Winged Swallow. In the oak-hickory forest you may find warblers, and nesting Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Great Crested Flycatcher, Eastern Wood Pewee, Tufted Titmouse, and Scarlet Tanager. At night you can hear Virginia Rail and Great Horned Owl. Bald Eagle nest in the local area.
Directions: 22 miles NNE of Madison. From the intersection of Highways 22, 51 and 60 that is 1.8 miles east of Arlington, go south on Highway 51 for 1.4 miles, then east on Highway K for 3.3 miles to where there is a gravel parking lot on the north side (43.310969, -89.260131)
