Horicon Marsh NWR

We’ll bird various areas around the marsh, including Highway 49 and the Auto Tour. The group usually hikes 2-3 miles on Old Marsh Road, with other spots visited via car caravan. We expect to find a nice variety of marsh birds (terns, rails and herons), shorebirds and waterfowl, as well as an assortment of resident passerines (including Yellowheaded Blackbird) and possibly early-fall migrants.
Trip registration opens on July 13, 2023.
Initially this event will be open only to WSO members and our field trips are free for members. Non-members are able to sign up within 14 days of the trip for a nominal fee of $10 per adult if spots remain open on trips with attendance limits. Further details about trip logistics will be sent to registrants prior to each field trip.
