Richfield 360 Recreation Area, Wood County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Northern Hardwood Forest, Successional Oldfield.

Best Birds: Birds found in the mature forest include Broad-winged Hawk, Barred Owl, Pileated Woodpecker, Great Crested Flycatcher, Veery, and Scarlet Tanager.

The brushy edges along the pipeline right-of-way, the old hayfield, and regenerating logged areas provide habitat for Black-billed Cuckoo, American Woodcock, Blue-winged and Golden-winged Warbler and Clay-colored Sparrow.

Directions: 20 miles SW of Stevens Point/7Seven miles north of Pittsville. Parking lot located on Heggelund Lane at 44.554516, -90.124428. Primarily a winter sports area, with several miles of ski/hiking trails. Trails have many low-lying areas that may be very wet; knee high type boots recommended.
