Nepco Lake County Park

Habitat: Mixed Coniferous Forest, Open Water.

Best Birds: Nepco Lake provides foraging habitat for a variety of birds including Osprey, Bald Eagle, Belted Kingfisher, and Northern Rough-winged Swallow.

Several miles of hiking/biking/ski trails loop through the oak/ pine forest, with the outermost loop following the lake shoreline and providing good views of the water. Great Crested Flycatcher, Yellow-throated and Warbling Vireo, Tufted Titmouse, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Eastern Towhee, Nashville and Pine Warbler, and Scarlet Tanager are among the species to be found here.  

Directions: The park entrance is located on Griffith Ave (aka County Hwy Z) 0.75 miles east of State Hwy 13 on the south side of Wisconsin Rapids. The park is open from May 1 to October 31.
