Habitat: Bottomland Hardwoods, Willow and Alder Swamp, Marsh, Sedge Meadow.
Best Birds: Walking the old railroad grade westward from New London for a mile or so will lead to a rail trestle from where a heronry is visible. This is also where the Prothonotary Warbler may nest. Also on the walk there should be Warbling Vireo, Common Raven, and Swamp Sparrow.

The Old Green Bay and Western Line railroad grade bisects the high-water area of the Wolf River Fishery which lies between the river and Hwy 54. The railway was abandoned decades ago and this area is only rarely visited. From Hwy 45 in New London turn west on Waupaca St. and north on Avon St. and park on the gravel near where the street fades, (44.39787, -88.74775). The fishery can also be viewed from the shoulder of busy Hwy 54.
