Navarino State Wildlife Area – Wolf River Bottomlands

Habitat: Bottomland Hardwoods, Willow Swamp.

Best Birds: In the bottomlands east of the Wolf River and north of Highway 156, Barred Owl, Acadian Flycatcher, and Prothonotary Warbler may be found. In the willow on both sides of the road, Wilson's Snipe, Willow Flycatcher, Sedge WrenYellow-breasted Chat (rare), and Swamp Sparrow may be found. Further to the east, Yellow Rail, Golden-winged, Blue-winged, and Black and White Warbler have been found. 

Directions: 34 miles WNW of Green Bay/6 miles east of Clintonville on Highway 156 to the Wolf River crossing for parking at a boat landing. The area continues 0.3 miles east of the Wolf River on Highway 156. Navarino State Wildlife Area extends further to the east and north into Shawano County.
