Hartman Creek SP, Waupaca County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot
Habitat: Oak Forest, Successional Oldfield, Restored Grasslands, Oak Savannah, Pine Plantation, Open Water.
Best Birds: The Allen Lake Loop follows the shoreline and may offer Pine Warbler among the old growth White Pine. On the water, there may be Green-winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, or Bufflehead in early spring. The half-mile Hartman Lake Trail attracts a nice assortment of nesting warblers. From the picnic area between Allen and Hartman Lakes, cross the fisher's dike and follow the north shoreline east until just before the dam, turn left into the woods as you return to close the loop. Check for Olive-sided Flycatcher, Yellow-throated Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Winter Wren, White-throated Sparrow, and Scarlet Tanager.
A promising third walk is out along the Old Stage Route, a bridal trail out-and-back of about 1 ¼ miles. Wilson’s Snipe, Red-headed Woodpecker, Philadelphia Vireo, Rough-winged Swallow, Tufted Titmouse, Fox and Field Sparrow are possible.
Directions: 28 miles SE of Stevens Point. From Hwy 54 turn south at Hartman Creek Road which leads to the main entrance.

With 1500 acres on the Upper Chain-of-Lakes the park offers several birding habitats: There are fallow fields becoming an oak savanna, and old pine plantations. Much of the park was a major apple orchard that is now reverting to sumac and aspen.
