Newell and Ann Meyer Preserve

Newell & Ann Meyer Nature Preserve (TNC), Waukesha County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Over 600 acres of Oak-Hickory Forest, Oak Savanna, Marsh, and Native and Restored Grassland are protected here.

Best Birds: In the large prairie restoration, expect to find sparrows such as Clay-colored, Vesper, Henslow's, Grasshopper, and possibly Lark Sparrow. Bobolink and Dickcissel can also be observed. Along the wetlands, one can find Sandhill Crane. And nesting in the woodlands are Yellow-throated Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, and Scarlet Tanager.

Directions: 42 miles SW of milwaukee/2.5 miles southwest of Eagle. Small parking area on south side of Highway 67, just south of Highway NN. Walk south from the parking through the prairie restoration, leading to trails along the marsh and oak savanna.  (42.855296, -88.509485)
