Dory’s Bog State Natural Area

Dory's Bog SNA, Washburn County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Northern Hardwood Forest, Conifer Bog, Open Water.  

Best Birds: Black Tern are often seen skimming the bog lake early mornings and late afternoons.  Sandhill Crane nest on the north edge of the lake. Black-billed Cuckoo, Great-crested Flycatcher, Eastern Wood Pewee, Wood Thrush, Hermit Thrush, Veery, White-throated Sparrow, Blackburnian Warbler, Nashville Warbler, Pine Warbler, and Scarlet Tanager are also seen or heard here. 

Directions: 77 miles N of Eau Claire/6 miles east of Sarona and 0.5 miles east of County Hwy M along the north section of Morningside Road.  Park on the shoulder of Morningside Road, 45.722615, -91.711328. Best access is along high ground to the west and northwest of the bog lake. There are no marked hiking trails.
