Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy, Walworth County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: 230 acres of Southern Hardwood Forest, Marsh, Restored and Native Grassland..

Best Birds: Wilson’s Snipe and American Woodcock display in spring, Alder and Willow Flycatcher, and Swamp Sparrow are typical summer residents in the willows and cattails. Sandhill Crane also nest here.

Directions:  52 miles SW of Milwauykee/Located within the city of Williams Bay. It can be accessed two ways. 

The main entrance is along Hwy 67 with a parking area just north of Stark Street on the west side of Hwy 67. Also, a parking area at the southeast corner of the conservancy, at the intersection of Geneva Street and Harris Road, will give you access to a boardwalk through a cattail marsh. The trail system contains over four miles of trails, all linked together (42.582985, -88.540963).

Because of its diverse habitat, with fairly extensive grassland in the middle of the conservancy, a creek along its western edge, woodlands perimeter, and marshland in its southeastern extremity, the KNC is home to a diversity of bird life.
