https://ebird.org/hotspot/L1355459

Habitat: This section of the Ice Age Trail spans several miles through Oak-Hickory Forest, Oak Savanna, Successional Oldfield, and Native and Restored Grassland.

Best Birds: In addition to the impressive number of migrants that pass through, the large tracts of forest provide habitat for warblers such as Hooded, Cerulean, and Chestnut-sided. Broad-winged Hawk, Pileated Woodpecker, Acadian Flycatcher, Wood Thrush, Veery, and Scarlet Tanager can also be found. Some fields and restored prairie west of Lake LaGrange allows one to find sparrows such as Field, Vesper, Clay-colored, and Savanna.

Directions: 48 miles SW of Milwaukee/5 miles east of Whitewater. Parking area just east of Sweeno Road on north side of Hwy 12. One recommended hike will take you north along Lake LaGrange for two to three miles with options to continue on or connect with adjacent horse trails.
