Habitat: Northern Hardwood Forest, Pine Plantation, Marsh, Open Water, Cropland.

Best Birds: The forest provides habitat for Black-billed Cuckoo, Barred Owl, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Wood Thrush and Rose-breasted Grosbeak.  The pine plantation may hold Red-breasted Nuthatch and Pine Warbler.  The wetlands may attract Solitary Sandpiper and other shorebirds, Osprey and Bald Eagle, and Northern Rough-winged Swallow.  Look for  Red-headed Woodpecker, Horned Lark, Savannah Sparrow, Bobolink, and Dickcissel in the ag fields.

Directions:  27 miles SE of LaCrosse. The main entrance (43.690401, -90.800099) is on County X about a mile east of State Highway 27, 3 miles north of Westby.   The north end of the park and creek are accessed from Peaceful Valley Road off of STH 27 at Newry (43.699618, -90.788295). The east side of the park and ag land is accessed off Lovestad Road going west from Clinton Ridge Road (43.685394, -90.794126).
