Cylon SWA, St. Croix County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Marsh, Sedge Meadow, Willow,Alder and Dogwood Swamp, Northern Hardwood Forest. 

Best Birds: The marshy and sedge areas hold, rails, coots, bitterns, and Sandhill Crane. In the proper habitat, Black-Billed Cuckoo, Willow and Alder Flycatcher, and Sedge and Marsh Wren can be found. The forested areas hold nesting Pine Warbler, Veery, and Scarlet Tanager. In the openings, there are breeding Golden-Winged Warbler. All of the warblers that pass through Wisconsin on their way to nesting grounds in northern Wisconsin and Canada can be seen at this location.

Directions: Located 38 miles NE of Hudson/7 miles southwest of Clear Lake. East of Deer Park, a parking area can be found by taking Hwy 46 to Co Rd H then following 235th St to the end of 235th Avenue, (45.20171, -92.31908). South of County Road H is the Cylon SWA and Cylon State Natural Area. Use parking on 230th St. (45.17570, -92.34379) and 240th St (45.17435, -92.32348) to access these areas.
