Shawano Lake County Park

Habitat: Northern Hardwood Forest, Open Water, Beach. 

Best Birds: Surf Scoter, Horned and Red-necked Grebe, Bonaparte's Gull, Black and Forster's Tern, Common Loon, Bald Eagle, Osprey, Red-headed Woodpecker, Pine Warbler. Shorebirds can be found on the beach at times during migration. 

Directions: 41 miles NW of Green Bay/5 miles east of Shawano. On the north shore of Shawano Lake follow County Hwy H (Lake Drive) to East Sunset Circle. Go south about 0.1 mile to the beach. 

Site Address & Additional Information: 

There are scattered large White Pines. Oak trees have noticeably thinned over the years because of Oak Wilt. There is a sandy beach on the lake shore.
