Circle of Flight Wetland, Stockbridge Munsee Reservation

Habitat: Hemlock-Hardwood Forest, Bottomland Hardwood Forest, Hardwoods Swamp, Marsh, Open Water. This is an open, marshy area with many dead trees. 

Best Birds: Hooded Merganser, Bald Eagle, Osprey, Olive-sided and Alder Flycatcher,
and Swamp and White-throated Sparrow nest here. 

Directions: 42 miles E of wausau/24 miles northwest of Shawano. From Bowler go east on Highway A for 2 miles to Moh He Con Nuck Road. Go north about 5 miles to National Guard Road. Go east on National Guard Road about 1.5 miles to an open marshy area on the north side of the road. Park on the shoulder of the road. Access is limited to birding from the roadside or within the public right-of-way 15 feet from the shoulder.

Permission is required from the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribe to enter lands except within the 15 foot right-of-way on each side of public roads. Do not enter the forest without permission.
