Mino-giizhigad Trail

Habitat: Mixed Coniferous Forest, Northern Hardwood Forest, Open Water.

Best Birds: The well-maintained trail passes through a number of different habitats. Species to look for include Northern Flicker, Least Flycatcher, White-breasted Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, Cedar Waxwing,  Mourning, Yellow-rumped, Chestnut-sided, and Black and White Warbler.  

  A short side trail provides a good view of part of the Chippewa Flowage. Scanning the water and shoreline may yield Common Loon, Osprey, Bald Eagle, Belted Kingfisher, or perhaps a Merlin.

Directions: 68 miles SW of Ashland/12 miles east of Hayward on County Hwy CC. The parking area (45.9534022, -91.2244728) is located just across the road from Conner Lane.
