Habitat: Cedar Swamp, Hardwood Swamp, Conifer Bog, Mixed Coniferous Forest, Northern Hardwood Forest, Hemlock-Hardwood Forest, Willow, Alder or Dogwood Swamp.

Best Birds: Representative species of the primarily mixed coniferous and hardwood forests are Ruffed Grouse, Broad-winged Hawk, Barred and Northern Saw-whet Owl, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Blue-headed Vireo, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Brown Creeper, Winter Wren, Wood Thrush, White-throated Sparrow, Northern Parula, Magnolia, Blackburnian, Yellow-rumped, Black-throated Green and Canada Warbler, and Scarlet Tanager.

Be alert for Black-throated Blue Warbler as they have been found in this area in summer.

Directions: Located 55 miles S of Ashland/5 miles northeast of Draper, this area is centered at the junction of Forest Road 311 (aka FR 161) and FR 162 (45.950619- 90.756602).
