Best Birds: Deer Lake should be checked for Trumpeter Swan, Hooded Merganser, Common Loon, Osprey, Bald Eagle, Belted Kingfisher, and Eastern Kingbird.

Walking the road can produce a nice variety of species including Black-billed Cuckoo, Broad-winged Hawk, Pileated Woodpecker, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Yellow-throated Vireo, Veery, Northern Waterthrush, Nashville, Mourning, Chestnut-sided, Golden-winged, and Canada Warbler, and Scarlet Tanager.
