Isherwood Road

Isherwood Rd (Portage Co.), Portage County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Cropland, Northern Hardwood Forest, Conifer Plantation.

Best Birds: Starting at the Isherwood Creek crossing, check the small stretch of forest for woodpeckers, flycatchers, vireos, sparrows, warblers, and Indigo Bunting. Ducks and herons can also be seen in the creek. Continuing south into the open fields provide viewing opportunities for swans, geese, ducks, shorebirds, raptors, Horned Lark, Common Raven, Vesper Sparrow and other sparrows, Western Meadowlark, and Brewer’s Blackbird. Several irrigation ditches along the road can yield ducks, herons, and Great Egret.

Directions: Located approximately 4 miles southeast of Plover. Turn south on Isherwood Rd and continue south until a creek crosses the road and start birding.
