Habitat - Mixed Coniferous Forest, Open Water.

Best Birds: Scan the Wisconsin River from the north or west side of the park for swans, ducks, grebes, loons, gulls, and terns. Check the mature white pines and white cedars within the park for woodpeckers, Great Crested Flycatcher, kinglets, Red-breasted Nuthatch, finches, sparrows, and warblers. 

Heading north from Bukolt Park on Old Wausau Rd, scan the Wisconsin River from St. Peter’s Cemetery for waterfowl, grebes, loons, gulls, and terns. The conifers in this area can produce Red-breasted Nuthatch and warblers. 

Directions: Located on the north side of Stevens Point on the Wisconsin River. Head west on Bukolt Ave from N 2nd St to the park entrance. Another entrance can be found by turning north onto Front St from Bukolt Ave, and northwest onto Old Wausau Rd. Turn west onto Rachick Rd to access the north end of the park. 

St. Peter’s Cemetery/Old Wausau Rd: The cemetery can be reached by turning northwest onto Old Wausau Rd from the Front St and 6th Ave intersection in Stevens Point. The cemetery will be on the west side of the road just north of Rachick Rd.
