Gandy Dancer State Trail–Luck to Frederic

Habitat: Northern Hardwood Forest, Marsh, Non-Native Grassland, Cropland.

Best Birds: Look for Bobolink just southeast of the parking lot. Three quarter miles north of the parking lot check the wetlands for Sandhill Crane, Wilson’s Snipe, American Woodcock, Sedge Wren,and  Brown Thrasher. Red-shouldered Hawk, owls, flycatchers, vireos, Veery, Wood Thrush, sparrows, warblers, and Scarlet Tanager habit the woodlands of Quaking Aspen, Sugar Maple/White and Red Oak, and grasslands along this four mile stretch from 260th Ave north to County Hwy W. 

Directions: 88 miles S of Superior/1 mile north of Luck on WI Hwy 35 at 260th Ave.
