West Jay Road Pond

West Jay Road Pond, Ozaukee County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat:  Cropland, Mudflats

Best Birds:  An ephemeral pond on the north side of the road in spring attracts a limited waterfowl population, but often shorebirds such as Wilson’s Phalarope (has bred here), Short-billed Dowitcher, White-rumped Sandpiper, and Semipalmated PloverLapland Longspur may be found on the mudflats in spring.  The south side of the road holds water longer; look for Wilson’s Phalarope and Lesser Yellowlegs in the persistent vegetation.
