Schwengel WPA, Ozaukee County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat:  284 acres of Restored Grassland and Marsh. 

Best Birds:  Rough-legged Hawk, Northern Harrier, Short-eared Owl, and Snowy Owl, may be found in migration and winter, with Northern Harrier breeding here.  Wintering passerines include Northern Shrike, Lapland Longspur, Snow Bunting, Savannah Sparrow, Eastern Meadowlark, and Western MeadowlarkBreeding birds include Sora, Marsh Wren, Sedge Wren, Grasshopper Sparrow, Henslow’s Sparrow, Bobolink, Eastern Meadowlark, and DickcisselUpland Sandpiper and Yellow-headed Blackbird are rare visitors.

Directions:  11 miles N of Port Washington. Along Six Mile Rd, 2 miles NW of Belgium, WI between Jay Rd. and Silver Beach Rd.
