Habitat: Open Water, Marsh, Bottomland Hardwood Forest, Northern Hardwood Forest, Successional Oldfield, Native and Restored Prairie.
Best Birds: The bottomland forest bordering the Wolf River is home to two of the signature species: Red-shouldered Hawk and Prothonotary Warbler. The once regular Cerulean Warbler has markedly diminished. Belted Kingfisher, Pileated Woodpecker and Northern Waterthrush also inhabit the often flooded bottomlands. An easily walkable trail parallels the bottomlands.
Look for Wild Turkey, Yellow and Black-billed Cuckoo, Blue-winged Warbler, Orchard Oriole and a variety of flycatchers, vireos, thrushes, sparrows, and warblers.
