Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve , Outagamie County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot
Habitat: Cedar Swamp, Hardwood Swamp, Native and Restored Grassland, Successional Oldfields, Marsh, Willow, Alder or Dogwood Swamp, Open Water.
Best Birds: In the fields, look for Sedge Wren, Field and Savannah Sparrow. Harris’s Sparrow has been noted on occasion. Northern Shrike is regular from November through the cold months. The swamp areas are reliable for Barred Owl, flycatchers, vireos, Winter Wren, and Northern Waterthrush, and other warblers. Rusty Blackbird may be present during migration. Wilson’s Snipe, American Woodcock and Harrier may be seen in the marshy areas.
Directions: The preserve is located in the northeast corner of Appleton. From the intersection of Lynndale Drive and W. Northland Ave. proceed north for 2 miles on Lynndale, then turn west at the entry road which is well-posted with signs to the preserve.

There are 8.5 miles of well-maintained trails in the 725 acre preserve which allow access to all habitats (appropriate footgear needed in wet conditions).
