Habitat: Oak Savanna.

Best Birds: Belted Kingfisher, Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Cedar Waxwing,  

Directions: 13 miles NNW of Milwayukee, in the Village of Brown Deer. Four miles west of Highway 43 and Brown Deer Rd. The property is land-locked. Bicycle and pedestrian access is from the Oak Leaf Trail -Zip Line segment, (43.17045, -87.96384). To access the site by car, park in the American Family Insurance lot. Walk north along Teutonia Avenue 120 feet and turn right under the railway bridge. Cross Oak Leaf Trail to access the ¼ mile trail loop (marked with a metal turtle sculpture). 

Site Address & Additional Information: 

2.5-acres young oak opening along Southbranch Creek, tributary to Milwaukee River. Owned by the River Revitalization Foundation.
