Habitat: Bottomland Hardwoods, Marsh, Open Water, Conifer Bog (Tamarack), Hardwood Swamp, Oak Savannah, Dry and Sand Prairie.  

Best Birds: Ring-necked Duck, other common duck species, Ruffed Grouse, Pied-billed Grebe, Black and Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Eastern Whip-poor-will, Virginia Rail, Sora, Black Tern, American Bittern, Eastern Screech Owl, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Pileated Woodpecker, Willow Flycatcher, vireos, Common Raven, Sedge Wren, Wood Thrush, Swamp Sparrow, Orchard Oriole, Blue-winged Warbler, Northern Waterthrush, American Redstart, most other warbler species in spring migration, and Scarlet Tanager.

Directions: 54 miles SE of Stevens Point/12 miles east of Westfield. Several parking areas exist along Eagle Road on the marsh's west and southern border, such as at 43.906240, -89.303363.  Parking also is found on the eastern border on County N and northern border on Duck Creek Ave. It can also be accessed by kayak on the Mecan River from Hwy. 22 just south of Budsin downstream to the take-out in Germania.
