Habitat:  Open Water, Marsh, Willow Swamp, Bottomland Hardwoods.  

Best Birds: The open waters of the flowage attract a diversity of waterbirds including large numbers of migrant ducks, gulls, and swallows. Cliff Swallow use the bridge at Rockville Road for nesting.  Birds that nest nearby but use this area for foraging include Black Tern and Osprey.  Waders and Belted Kingfisher hunt the river edges.  Marsh and willow Swamp along the edges of the flowage attract migrating thrushes, sparrows, and warblers.  Nesting birds include Willow Flycatcher and Warbling VireoWilson's Snipe and American Woodcock can be heard displaying during breeding season.  

Directions: 42 miles S of Green Bay, at he northeast edge of Kiel, on Rockville Road 1/2 mile east of STH 67. Park at 43.91996, -88.01471. The walking trail around the flowage is accessed about 1000 ft west of the parking lot at 43.920780, -88.018213. Also follow the river south of the dam on the trail starting across the street from parking.

Site Address & Additional Information:

Sisson Park is situated on the edge of Rockville Flowage, a 76 acre impoundment of the Sheboygan River.  A walking trail passes along the west edge of the flowage, then to the north and eastern shore, passing through various emergent and shrub habitats with scattered trees.
