Habitat: Northern Hardwood Forest, Mixed Coniferous Forest, Bottomland Hardwoods, Pine Plantation, Conifer Bog, Open Water.

Best Birds: In the pine plantations listen for Brown Creeper, Red Crossbill, and Pine Warbler. Look for Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker in the bottomland hardwoods along with Winter Wren. Also look for Pine Siskin, Pine Grosbeak, and Common Redpoll in the winter months, where they occasionally visit the feeders at the main lodge. Throughout the property Ruffed Grouse are common. Look for a variety of sparrows in the young conifers and edge habitats.

Directions: 50 Miles North of Wausau. Take Hwy 51 towards Tomahawk, and take the Hwy A exit north of Tomahawk. Head East and look for Pickerel Creek Rd on the South side of A. Follow signs to the Main Lodge.

There is a small fee, about $5, to park and use the property. There are also some good spots to bird in the immediate area surrounding the property.
