Habitat: Urban, Beach, Open Water, Lawn

Best Birds: Look for the occasional migrant American Pipit, Lapland Longspur, or Harris’ Sparrow near the beach or in the tall grass areas. There is also a large field/lawn that might hold a flock of Snow Bunting in the winter. In the fall look for a large gathering of gulls sitting on the roofs of the train company buildings. Bonaparte’s Gull are possible. 

In winter, look for Bohemian Waxwing, Cedar Waxwing, and Pine Grosbeak in the many fruit trees spread throughout downtown Tomahawk.

Directions: 45 Miles North of Wausau. On the Northwest side of Tomahawk, take W Somo Ave until you reach Sara Park. Explore the campground area, dog park, native flower garden, and fields for a variety of birds.
