Pride Pond

Habitat: Bottomland Hardwoods, Alder/Willow Swamp, Open Water, Marsh.

Best Birds: Along the trail going towards the pond, look for Yellow bellied Sapsucker, Brown Thrasher, Ruby Crowned Kinglet, Swamp Sparrow, Rusty Blackbird and a great variety of warblers during migration. Down by the pond listen for Sora, Belted Kingfisher, and Green Heron. At the dam watch for the annual nesting Osprey. Also along the river look for Cedar Waxwing and Cliff Swallow. Scan the lake for an assortment of divers and gulls, and the rock shore for Spotted Sandpiper.

Directions: 45 miles North of Wausau. On the South side of Tomahawk, take Hwy E and just past the PGA factory fence head east on Pride Ponds Road to where it dead ends by the parking area.
