Woods Flowage Fishery Area, Langlade County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Northern Hardwood Forest, Hemlock-Hardwood Forest, and Open Water

Best Birds: Hooded Merganser, and Belted Kingfisher can be found around the Hogelee springs, and the surrounding forest fosters a nice diversity of warblers such as Nashville, Black-throated Green, Black-and-white, Canada, Magnolia, Blackburnian, Northern Parula, and Northern Waterthrush. The surrounding upland forest can hold Ruffed Grouse, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Blue-headed Vireo, Hermit Thrush, and Winter Wren.

Directions: 48 miles NE of Wausau/13.3 miles east of Antigo. A parking area is located on Polar Evergreen Road south of State Trunk Highway 64 (45.148964, -88.929412). An additional parking area is located at the end of Woods Flowage Road east of its intersection with 5th Avenue Road (45.145109, -88.938104).
