Lost Lake Road/Spider Creek Flowage, Langlade County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Open Water, Conifer Bog, Mixed Coniferous Forest, and Cedar Swamp.

Best Birds: A sample of the species in include Alder Flycatcher, a variety of corvids, Hermit Thrush, White-throated Sparrow, Blackburnian, Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Green, Northern Parula, and Nashville Warbler, and Purple Finch.    

Directions: 63 miles NE of Wausau/27.5 miles northeast of Antigo. Parking is along the shoulder of Lost Lake Road at the gated access road, which can be reached by taking Lost Lake Road from its intersection with either Highway 55 or County Hwy K (45.40788, -89.03989).

Lost Lake Road is a 7 mile stretch of road with the southern portion passing through black spruce and tamarack bogs extending up an access lane to Spider Creek Flowage before transitioning into mixed forest in the northern portion of the road.

Beware that this is a minimum maintenance road with high ATV traffic.
