Habitat: Marsh, Sedge Meadow, Open Water, Dry and Sand Prairie, Oak Savanna.
Best Birds: Marsh Wren, Sedge Wren, and Swamp Sparrow can be found in the wetter areas. Sandhill Crane nest in the area. Bell’s Vireo is found along the old railroad bed. Red-headed Woodpecker are found in the savanna. Purple Martin are frequently seen feeding over the area.
Directions: 43 miles SW of Madison. The main entrance to the property is from the Argyle Legion Community Park. From the parking lot, walk west across the mowed area to the kiosk (42.705096, -89.870738).

There are about two miles of trail to explore through the lowlands adjacent to the Pecatonica River. The area encompasses the largest wetlands with public access in Lafayette County.
