Cisserville Rd and County M

Cisserville Road and County Road M, Lafayette County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Marsh, Open Water, Willow, Alder or Dogwood Swamp, Cropland.

Best Birds: This area along the Pecatonica River can be a great location of spring waterfowl and shorebird migration depending upon the water level.  When the field floods south of Cisserville Road migrating waterfowl can be abundant, as swans, geese and dabbling ducks fill the flooded areas.  Shorebirds can be present later in the spring. Sandhill Crane use the area while staging for migration.  

Directions: 54 miles SSW of Madison. From South Wayne travel north on County D for 0.5 miles, continue straight on County N for 1.4 miles, turn right on Mink Farm Rd for 2.1 miles, turn right onto Cisserville road (42.601610, -89.845310). Also check the south side of County M about 0.5 miles south of Cisserville Road.  In the same general area there are several oxbow ponds visible from County M as you travel north 3.5 miles to Woodford and another field with shorebird potential is on County M 0.5 miles west of Woodford, (42.64803, -89.86886).
