Habitat: Jack Pine-Oak Barrens, Oak Savanna, Open Water.
Best birds: Restoration at the park created rarely found sand barrens and oak savanna. Species drawn to this habitat are Red-headed Woodpecker and Lark Sparrow. A nighttime visit in summer should produce Common Nighthawk and Eastern Whip-poor-will.
A few park locations offer views of Castle Rock Lake for viewing waterbirds.
