Habitat: Southern Hardwood Forest and Hemlock-Hardwood Forest.
Best birds: Trails through the mature forest are hilly, steep and cross several very small streams. This forest harbors a great profusion of interesting summer residents including, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Acadian Flycatcher, Winter Wren, Tufted Titmouse, Louisiana Waterthrush, Cerulean Warbler, and Hooded Warbler.
The western portion of the property does not have a trail system, but an overland hike can lead to a hemlock stand that often has Blackburnian Warblers in summer.
Directions: 80 miles E of laCrosse/ 9.7 miles south of Mauston city center via Hwy 12 and County Hwy K.
