East Fork Black River SNA

Habitat: Mixed Coniferous Forest, Open Water. 

Best birds: The conifers  along the East Fork of the Black River are good spots for Red-shouldered Hawk, Blue-headed Vireo, Common Raven, Hermit Thrush, Pine Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler, and Black-throated Green Warbler

   A nighttime visit in summer may produce Long-eared Owl and Whip-poor-will

Directions: 60 miles SE of Eau Claire/16.8 northeast of Black River Falls city center via Main St., Hwys 54 and K, Old 54 and Campground Road to the East Fork Campground. Birding within the campground or along the trail leading east from the campground provides the best opportunities to view the species of special interest.
