Brooklyn Wildlife Area

Brooklyn SWA (Green Co.), Green County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Successional Oldfield, Native and Restored Grassland, Southern Hardwood Forest, Pine Plantation.

Best Birds: Walk north on the Ice Age Trail for about 1 mile to the Green/Dane County border for  Yellow-breasted Chat, Blue-winged Warbler and Orchard Oriole. A visit in the evening can be productive for species such as Eastern Whip-poor-will, American Woodcock, and Eastern Screech Owl.

Directions: 23 miles SSW of Madison. From the intersection of Hwy 92 and County D travel north on County D and turn right on Hughes Rd.  Travel 0.3 miles to the parking lot (42.843028, -89.499311) on the north side of Hughes Rd. which is at the southern end of the Ice Age Trail segment.
