New Glarus Woods State Park

Habitat: Southern Hardwood Forest, Native and Restored Grassland, Successional Oldfield.

Best Birds: Hiking the trails north of Hwy NN will take you through old growth hardwood forest where Pileated Woodpecker, Acadian Flycatcher, and Cerulean Warbler can be found.  The trails south of Hwy NN will take you through areas of younger forest and grasslands where Henslow’s Sparrow, Hooded Warbler, and Yellow-breasted Chat can be seen.

Directions:  27 miles SW of madison/South of New Glarus 1.5 miles on Hwy 69. The park entrance is off of County Hwy NN 0.1 miles west of Hwy 69.
