Habitat: Northern Hardwood Forest, Hemlock-Hardwood Forest, Willow, Adler or Dogwood Swamp, Non-Native Grassland and Pasture, Cropland, Open Water.

Best Birds: Northern Goshawk and Canada Jay are occasional along this 6.5 mile road.  Woodpeckers and seven flycatcher species, including Yellow-bellied and Alder Flycatcher, are possible. Snow Bunting is possible in agricultural areas.  Uncommon warblers include Golden-winged, Mourning, Northern Parula, and Black-throated Blue.  Winter finches including both crossbills are occasional in irruptive years.  

Directions: 23 miles southwest of Iron Mountain, MI.  Follow Florence County Highways N and C to the intersection with Rock Creek Road, 45.74470, -88.45339.  Travel the gravel Rock Creek Road for 6.5 miles to the west until it meets Newald Tower Road, 45.756748, -88.533276. Along the way stop at Mud Creek and lake, 45.7409683, -88.4575646. Rock Creek, 45.738783, -88.507996 and the South Branch of the Popple River. 45.752431, -88.533270.
