Habitat:  Willow, Alder or Dogwood Swamp, Marsh, Urban/ Residential/Industrial, Open Water.

Best Birds:  Check open water for a variety of waterfowl and Pied-billed GrebeChimney Swift are possible flying along with 5 species of swallows.  Both Virginia and Sora Rail are present in the marsh.  Pectoral Sandpiper, Wilson Snipe, Solitary Sandpiper and both yellowlegs are occasional.  Belted Kingfisher, American Kestrel, and Merlin are possible.  American Pipit and Snow Bunting are uncommon in autumn.

Directions:  15 miles west from Iron Mountain, MI.  From Hwy 141/2 in Florence, go north on Pewabic Street 3 blocks and continue to where the road turns into a private drive along the marsh. Another access is from Lagoon Road where there is a gate, 45.928234, -88.254688.  Beyond the gate is private property, but a rough path south of the gate around the marsh begins here.  Another access is from Olive Street on the south side of the marsh, 45.924304, -88.254942.
