Habitat:  Open Water, Mixed Coniferous Forest, Marsh

Best Birds:  Check lake for waterfowl and loons.  Trumpeter Swan have nested here. Osprey, Bald Eagle, and Broad-winged Hawk often perch in spires along the shoreline.  Check marsh for ducks, herons, and rails. Scan dead spires in marsh for woodpeckers, flycatchers, and warblers.  Both Olive-sided Flycatcher and Alder Flycatcher nest here.  Walk along the road south of parking lot, then take path west skirting the south end of the lake.  Kinglets, Winter Wren, and Hermit Thrush are often common.  Evening Grosbeak nest regularly.  Uncommon warblers seen here include, Mourning, Cape May, Northern Parula, and Blackburnian.
