https://ebird.org/hotspot/L4505435

Habitat:  Open Water, Urban Parkland, Northern Hardwood and Mixed Coniferous Forest.

Best Birds: Migratory ducks, Common Loon, Red-shouldered Hawk, warblers and other passerines. Riverview Park is an open mowed park area with great views of the river, but adjacent to the park are larger wooded areas with hiking, biking and skiing trails. If you launch a boat, backwater areas just upstream frequently hold a good variety of puddle ducks early in migration.

Directions:  North side of Eau Claire. Take Riverview Dr north from North Crossing/ Highway 312.  There are several entrances to the park. The entrance to the north leads to picnic and playground areas and a boat launch (44.846407, -91.499447). From there across Riverview Drive to the east are trails in the City Wells area. By boat go upstream to backwaters of the Chippewa River (44.85722, -91.51725 and 44.8674, -91.50771). Near the entrance to Riverview Park on the south there is a bridge to an island (44.84430, -91.49709).

There are more birding opportunities across the river on the west side in Northwest Park at the end of Van Es Parkway (44.843495, -91.519796).
