Carson Park

Habitat:  Open Water, Marsh, Mixed Coniferous Forest, PIne Plantation, Hardwood Swamp, Urban/Residential Park.

Best Birds:  Merlin, Osprey, Barred and Great Horned Owl and Pine Warbler nest here.  The park attracts a wide variety of migrant ducks, warblers and other passerines, particularly in the Braun's Bay area.  There are areas of open water in the winter due to aeration which can also attract lingering ducks out of season.

Directions: In Eau Claire. The main entrance is on Menomonie St just east of N Clairemont Ave.  Turn north onto Carson Park Dr.  The first left leads to a parking area at Braun's Bay (44.805871, -91.526957).

Bike trails running through the park connect to the Chippewa River bike trail for many more miles of excellent birding.
