Co. Hwy A and Hwy 151 Ponds

Habitat: Open water and mudflats that get exposed as the water level in the ponds goes down.

Best Birds: The most productive spot is on the west side of the intersection of Highway 151 and County Road A. That area provides a variety of waterfowl in the spring like Bufflehead and Canvasback. Scan the area for shorebirds like American Golden-PloverBlack-bellied PloverShort-billed Dowitcher, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs.

Directions: Two miles north of Beaver Dam. The ponds and mudflats are located on each side of exit 136 on Highway 151 at County Road A. To scope the pond on the west side of Highway 151 park along the shoulder of the south bound on-ramp to Highway 151. The area east of Highway 151 can be viewed by parking on the shoulder of County Road A or on Distribution Way.
